Before you consider a wheel with a lower rating,
consider what would happen if it, uh, flew apart at top speed.
For all these reasons, Metabo wheels may not be the cheapest wheels
on the market. But when you add up their safety margins, exceptional
efficiency, long life, and clean finish, you'll see why they're
easily worth a little extra. After all, with Metabo there's only
ever been one standard.

| Of all the worlds major power tool manufacturers, only
one makes their own complete line of abrasives. At Metabo,
our standards are so unreasonable (or we're so persnickety,
depending on your point of view) that other people's products
just don't cut it. |
| For example, to guarantee the purity of our raw materials
- from abrasive grain to bonding resins - we utilize extensive
tests such as bulk density, light spectro-analysis, and viscosity.
This testing insures that our wheels have no iron, water,
phosphor, or sulfur contaminants. |
| Particularly in the food and nuclear industries, contamination
with certain of these elements can cause extensive (and
expensive) damage. |
| Again, where other manufacturers use one or two layers
of fiberglass reinforcement, we always use 2 or 3, and in
some wheels even 4 full layers. Where some dump scrap abrasive
grains in the "non-working" layers to save money,
we use top quality grain throughout (you can't see them,
but you'll certainly notice how much longer the wheel lasts,
and how fast it works). |
| And whether you choose a grinding, cup grinding, cutoff
wheel or abrasive disc, zirconium flap disc or wire wheel
or brush, if it has our name on it, it has been balanced
and speed tested. In fact, we test to almost 200% of the
operating speed (tough American ANSI standards demand only
150%). |
