Stone SizerUpper
After many requests to figure out how much a stone weighs, TCS has decided to reveal it’s secret formula to determine the weight of the stone you would like.
First calculate the cubic inches by multiplying length x width x depth, then divide by 1728 to reach the cubic footage of your piece. Now multiply by the stone index number below to obtain the stone weight in pounds. For example, if you
had a limestone piece 18” x 12” x 12”, the equation would be:

Stone Index
Alabaster (average)
155
Marble (average)
170
African Wonderstone
190
Limestone (average)
150
Soapstone (average)
